What is isotropy?
When a magnetic moment - the strength and direction of a magnetic field - has no preferred direction and responds in the same way to all applied magnetic fields, this circumstance is called magnetic isotropy. The term means something like "uniform in all directions."
The opposite of isotropy is anisotropy.
