What are Ceramic Magnets?
Ceramic magnets are also called ferrite magnets or craft magnets and have been a scientific subject of research since the 20th century. In the course of time, two types of ceramic magnets have been developed: soft and hard ferrites, which differ mainly in their composition. While soft ferrites have a low coercive field strength, that of hard ferrites is stronger. The higher the coercivity, the better the ability of a magnet to maintain its magnetization when exposed to an opposing magnetic field.
The main component of both types of ceramic magnets is iron oxide (Fe2O3). Strontium or barium ferrite make up the remainder of the magnet. Ferrite magnets are also axially magnetized, meaning that the north and south poles are on opposite sides of a horizontal line. In diametrically magnetized magnets, however, the north and south poles would be on opposite sides of a vertical straight line.

What is the difference between neodymium and ceramic magnets?
