What is the Lorentz force?
Named after the Dutch physicist Hendrik Anton Lorentz, the Lorentz force describes the experienced force of a charge in an electric or magnetic field. A magnetic field exerts a force on a moving charge, while an electric field has the same effect on a moving and a static charge.
